Vote for Change -- Vote for the Democratic Slate

by: philgoblue

Tue Nov 04, 2008 at 05:46:36 AM EST

Polls open today -- Tuesday, 4 November -- from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Weather report: It's going to be a glorious day: "abundant sunshine, highs in the upper 60s"
Sunrise: 7:22 am; Sunset 5:31 pm

Go to VoteforChange.com right now and find your polling location. Invite all of your friends and family to find their polling location. Decide when you are going to vote; on the way to work, at lunch or on the way home. Remind your co-workers to vote.

Know Your Voting Rights
It's your right to vote if you're in line when the polls close at 8:00 pm
It's your right to vote even if you don't have photo id, you just have to sign a form (ask the poll worker). Valid forms of ID: Driver's License, State ID card, Student Photo ID, Passport, Military or Tribal ID.
It's your right to vote even if you are challenged. Just answer the questions and then vote.
It's your right to vote, but you must be at your designated precinct
It's your right to vote in your old precinct if you moved to a different city or within the same city after 5 September.
You have the right to take notes (like this post) into the voting booth with you to help you remember who to vote for (I always do).

If you are being harassed or intimidated:
Tell a poll worker right away
Then report a problem or any voting rights questions to
888-MI-Change
or visit www.michiganknowyourrights.com
The Democratic Party has lawyers ready to right for your right to vote.
Lines may be long at times today, especially after 5:00 pm, so take a friend, newspaper, book, ipod or something to pass the time.
Have Fun! Make History!
