Dan Scripps: Featured Speaker At Rothbury Festival

Dan Scripps, 101st State House Democratic Candidate, will be a featured speaker at the Rothbury Music Festival being held at the Double J Ranch, Rothbury, MI, July 3-6; in a series of environmental discussions called Think Tank.

The ROTHBURY Think Tank will host a mix of provocative keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, film screenings, and audience Q&A sessions throughout the festival site to offer insight into these and other questions. Interactive participation, both face-to-face and through the use of multi-media technology enable the ROTHBURY community to engage with the Think Tank at multiple levels.

Dan will be speaking on Sunday, July 6th, 12:45- 2:15pm in a panel on Climate Change and Energy Solutions for the 21st Century. He will be joined by Eban Goodstein, L. Hunter Lovins, Will Semmes, Antuan Cannon and moderator Bud Ward.

We kick off Think Tank Day 3 with the theme of what our local, state and federal
political leaders can do to solve climate change and achieve energy independence. Join
economist and Focus the Nation leader Eban Goodstein, and natural capitalist L. Hunter
Lovins as they open the day's discussions of what our political and corporate leaders need
to do to solve climate change and foster energy independence. Will Semmes, Deputy
Director of the California Department of General Services Antuan Cannon of Envirolution,
and Michigan State Representative candidate Dan Scripps.

The Rothbury Bio:

Dan Scripps is the Democratic candidate for State Representative in Michigan's 101st District, and is one of the state's leading voices on environmental and energy issues.
A graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, Dan practiced environmental law in the Washington D.C. office of a major global law firm, and has also worked with the Leelanau Conservancy to develop a cutting edge package of farm programs. Dan also owns his own small consulting business, advising clients on how to take advantage of the opportunities of a changing world.
In addition to his environmental work, Dan is Vice President of the Leelanau Children's Center, chairs the Economic Development Committee for his local chamber of commerce, and founded a statewide group that works to counter voter intimidation and spearheaded the national research efforts for the reauthorization of the Voting Rights Act.
Dan is the only Michigan House candidate to be endorsed by 21st Century Democrats and is the only candidate to serve as a founding champion of the Michigan Defining Moment campaign, a bipartisan statewide effort to develop an agenda for Michigan's future.

Dan Scripps again shows he is taking the lead on environmental action in Michigan. He is voicing his "Blueprint for Michigan's Future" of Jobs, Schools and the Great Outdoors to groups large and small. Please consider volunteering or donating to elect a Progressive Democrat in Northwest Michigan.
