Judy Truesdell is running for the Michigan State House in District 78 in Cass and Berrien counties. Judy is a prime opportunity for a pickup for West Michigan Democrats. Help her out anyway you can (if you're in a different district ... help her anyway, but also do similar things for you're local State House candidate if they're running hard).
A Note From Judy
Hi Everyone,
On this first day of October, we are on our way to the final countdown to Election Day 2008 and I need your help. Seriously, while we are well organized and have great volunteers, we need every single supporter to work extra hard until November 4th.
Please consider the following suggestions:
* Begin wearing your Judy buttons (available in Union Pier, Buchanan, Cassopolis, and Niles offices.) Wear your T-shirts if you have them.
* Put out your yard signs. Encourage your family and friends to put out signs. Call the office (269-683-8500) and we will deliver to addresses you give us.
* Begin talking about 'Judy' to everyone you know. Tell them it is time for the PEOPLE of the 78th to be represented by someone who truly understands their concerns and the needs of our district.
* Suggest that they vote a straight Democratic ticket this year.
* Here is a HUGE one . . . could you give us a couple of hours a week to come into the office to phone bank with other volunteers? If making calls from home is more convenient, you can pick up phone banking lists to take home and then bring back after you make calls. THIS IS A CRITICAL NEED. WE HAVE MANY VOTERS TO CALL.
* Mention to your children and grandchildren that you are voting for me. Kids like to know that you are involved in this important election.

Yesterday morning, Governor Granholm had an absolutely massive jobs announcement, with 17 companies growing in Michigan, creating 7000 new jobs and retaining another 14,585 jobs. The projects are all over the state, and I've listed the details of those in West Michigan below, but they include new jobs in Kalamazoo, Walker, Kentwood, Cascade Township, Spring Lake Township, Grand Rapids, Dowagiac, Holland and Hastings.
You can chat with Governor Jennifer Granholm about these developments and others at her sixth annual swing through Grand Rapids is next week TONIGHT:
